Offutt Air Force Base, E-4 Apron
Client:
Offutt Air Force Base
Lamp, Rynearson and Associates was hired by Offutt Air Force Base (AFB) as part of a five-year IDIQ contract. The AFB looked to Lamp Rynearson to develop a design plan that would allow them to repair their E-4 Apron while maintaining current E-4 Aircraft operations. Lamp Rynearson work involved investigation of the existing apron conditions and making recommendations to the AFB on repairs, along with a detailed construction and phasing plan that allowed E-4 aircraft operations during construction.
Responsibilities also included investigating and evaluating the condition of the existing apron area and designing the repair and replacement of the airfield pavement, vault lids, utility and equipment covers, inlets and other related items. All items that failed or were likely to fail in the near future and had the potential to produce foreign objects or debris (FOB) were noted and replaced.
Lamp Rynearson coordinated closely with the Air Force Base base engineer, operations, and security personnel to ensure their concerns were met and the proposed construction closures would be as minimal as possible for their operational and security needs. |
