Thompson Rivers Parks & Recreation District Nelson Ball Fields, Johnstown, CO
Client:
Design One/ Sports One Development, Inc.
Site design and support for a four-field ballpark complex
with site limitations on all sides. Existing cultivated land had
more than 20 feet of relief. Design included supplying offsite
water and sewer services to center of site. This project
required close coordination and planning for maintaining
existing irrigation ditch within site limits. Due to budget
constraints, the 90%-completed design required a reevaluation
to balance the earthwork. Balancing the site
maintained the basic layout of the site with the addition of
a detention pond to increase the adjacent detention pond’s
storage capacity.
