Client:
City of Omaha
Since 1991, Lamp Rynearson has served as the lead consultant of a multi-discipline team for some $35 million in improvements at Rosenblatt Stadium, home of the College World Series. These improvements were required by the City of Omaha’s agreement with the NCAA.
Lamp Rynearson was responsible for the reconstruction of the playing field and a state-of-the-art drainage system. Included in Lamp Rynearson’s designs were multiple parking lot expansions and reconstruction, including a preliminary design of the potential parking lot expansion for the stadium and Henry Doorly Zoo, totaling approximately 4,600 parking spaces.
Lamp Rynearson provided further NCAA improvements, including design efforts for the entrance plaza, and for the recreational vehicle parking lot, which included layout and grading. The reconstruction of the stadium playing field, which included an innovative drainage system, received design awards from both the American Consulting Engineers Council of Nebraska (ACEC) and the Eastern Chapter of the Nebraska Society of Professional Engineers (NSPE).
Lamp Rynearson has recently been selected to complete additional design projects for the stadium, which may include a new umpires room, outfield camera tower, press box elevator upgrade, and photojournalists’ boxes.
