LRA believes in creating livable communities through smart planning and innovative design. Incorporating elements of sustainable design into your project not only creates a sense of place but of well-being. Examples of our work include the residential neighborhood, Linden Estates, and a renovation of Rockbrook Village Shopping Center.

The residents of Linden Estates and surrounding neighborhoods take advantage of a green natural corridor through a 3-mile trail system. Conservation and restoration efforts through this corridor have improved and expanded the organic ecosystem, provided storm water storage and improved water quality.

Rockbrook Village Shopping Center, located in central Omaha, boasts a new plaza area that now hosts shopping center events and activities. Rockbrook Creek, a degraded channelized waterway, was stabilized and habitat was restored.

In 2006, LRA’s Board of Directors voted unanimously to approve a Sustainable Design Plan written by an employee task force for the firm. This Sustainable Design Plan includes employee and client education, LEED certification, project applications, and internal sustainability initiatives such as recycling. It is LRA’s goal to put into action useful, sustainable elements in land planning, landscape architecture and civil engineering, as well as in our own day-to-day environment.
